Acrylic magnet

About a 2-inch disc · glass cousin is heavier

Round crystal glass Orlando magnet, two inches across
A 2-inch clear disc. Glass in Shop is heavier than acrylic. Both want painted steel, not a toss onto tile.

An acrylic magnet is a clear disc or rectangle with the city on the face and a magnet pad on the back. The usual class is about 2 inches across. Acrylic is plastic: lighter than glass, easier to scratch. Crystal glass is the heavier cousin. Shop currently mounts glass discs on the city aisle. There is no separate acrylic aisle — that would be a fake door.

Clear face, real weight

A 2-inch glass disc is heavy for its size. It holds on painted steel. It chips if it hits hotel tile. Acrylic in the same diameter is kinder in a carry-on pocket and still wants a wrap so the face does not take a zipper. Neither belongs on a car door. Neither belongs on black stainless or fingerprint-resistant stainless; GE warns the finish can mark.

If the door is austenitic stainless, a thin pad will slide. Test with a spoon. Group the disc toward the center or upper third. Leave the handle strip clear. A 4-inch printed disc is a different family — that is a fridge magnet with a large face, not a clear 2-inch.
